Dharamshala -- M.V.V. Prasada Rao takes charge asthe new Director of Central Tibetan SchoolsAdministration (CTSA) on 18 March. CTSA is anautonomous body under the Indian Ministry ofHuman Resource Development, Government of India.
Mr Rao took over charge from Mr Vineet Joshi, IASwho was the director of CTSA from November 2006to 17 March 2009. Before joining CTSA, Mr PrasadaRao was the Joint Secretary (Admn. & Legal) ofCentral Board of Secondary Education, Delhi.Prior to that, he served as AssistantCommissioner of Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti(1996-2004); Deputy Director (Admn.) & RegionalHead of National Institute of Open Schooling,Hyderabad Region (2004-2005); and Deputy Director(Admn.) of National Institute of AgricultureMarketing under Ministry of Agriculture of Govt. of Rajasthan (2005-2006).
Extending greetings to the new director, theDepartment of Education (DOE), Central TibetanAdministration, expressed hope for an all roundprogress under his leadership and fulfillment ofthe twin objectives of CTSA - to provide qualitymodern education to the Tibetan children underits care and to promote the preservation andlearning of the Tibetan cultural heritage and language in the schools.
Education Secretary Ven. Karma Gelek Yuthok paidhim a courtesy call on 27 March.
