7th Annual Day 2013

The seventh Annual Day of DPS was a showcase of how talented the students of DPS are. The five hour event brought to life the colours of childhood, with programs ranging from art and craft exhibition to dance, song, ballet and drama.
The bedazzling performances and the giving away of the annual awards was graced by the Chief Guest, Sri. Pradeep Kumar, DRM South Central Railways, Vijayawada and the Guest of Honor, Sri. MVV Prasada Rao, director, CBSE, Delhi. The luminaries gracing the occasion included Sri Parimi Hanumantha Rao, Chairman, PHRIES, Sri Parimi Narendra Babu, Pro-Vice-Chairman, Directors of the School and the Dean, Sri S.B Rao.

The Chief Guest and the Guest of Honor congratulated the management, staff, and students on their achievements and strive towards providing quality education with great emphasis on traditional values. “Progressive thinking will lead to progressive teaching methods and bring out a tremendous change in imparting education”, was the message given by the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honor.

DPS Voices 2013, the Annual Magazine which contains the creative contributions of the students and staff and offers a panorama of the events of the school was released by the Guest of Honor. The first copy was received by the Chief Guest.

In a brief Annual Report, the Dean, Sri S.B Rao, highlighted the achievements of the school and thanked the parents for their unstinting support and encouragement.

Prize for Full Attendance, Academic Excellence, Class-wise Best Student of the Year, Best House of the Year, and the Best Outgoing Student of the Year were distributed. Brahmaputra house was adjudged the Best House of the Year, 2013 – 2014, and Manisha Koppala of Class XII was adjudged the Best Outgoing Student of the year, 2013 – 2014.

The cultural programs included a wide range of dances, including Thillana, Telugu folk, Gondhad – A Maharashtrian dance, Hip-Hop, English and Telugu Ballets and thematic skits. The two dances choreographed by Rahul Krishnan of Class X, one depicting Krishna’s love for Radha and the other driving home the point “Never Give Up”, won the appreciation of all.

The program concluded with a Vote of Thanks and the rendition of the National Anthem.
